The last potential use of OS-9/6809 by Microware almost happened in the late 1990s. I was teaching an OS-9 session in Arizona (I think) and there was a guy there that was talking to Microware about using OS-9/6809 in cash register computers. At the time, they had systems that were being used at -- I think -- Wendy's. I think they may have already been using 6809.

So as I went through the class, I would try to point out things I knew to be different (number of open paths and things that didn't exist at all in the original 6809 version). He was a really cool and fun guy who drove a cool car. He took me out to dinner somewhere, but I can't remember more details.

I even told him about the NitrOS-9 project at the time, but as we know now, whatever he was talking about with Microware never happened.

I wish I could remember his name or his company.
