Ah! I did not know (or remember) that. The last years I spent with the CoCo were RGB-DOS and then HDB-DOS. It's been a long time since I used a CoCo without a hard drive :)
By the way, Robert -- I ran across a QUEST.BAS program on a disk image and ran it and it was a game by my buddy Joel Hegberg. It was like the Atari 2600 Adventure. I wrote him and he sent me a link to the Rainbow magazine (December 1989 maybe?) it was printed in. As I went through the pages, in the Letters to the Editor was one from James Jones, who I worked with at Microware (and didn't even know yet in 1989) and elsewhere was a letter from YOU! All these names I know now! Cool.
I wonder how compatible a version of HDB-DOS would be that used the CoCoSDC type extensions rather than SCSI/IDE/DriveWire. Rather than do drives 0-255, it could just do SDC drives like SDC-DOS, but have all the other enhancements. Best of both worlds?
