Spencer, try reading the HDBDOS manual, it explains most things.

Subject: [Coco] HDB-DOS and a green newcomer (me)
Greetings all.
Got a few questions:
) Is HDB-DOS required for Drivewire?
2) Just received a FD-502 controller with the HDB-DOS eprom.
ho sells the HDD interface card for the CC3? Can I buy any 30-100MB drive (or
ther capacity) to work with the interface?
3) Now that I have the 502 controller and the eprom how do I format a physical
loppy disk? I tried using DSKINI 0 and it tells me it's about to format a
ard disk.
Thanks!
