Rant about Canadian Customs mode on! No reflection on Glen intended.

Speaking as someone with some unpleasant experience with Canadian Customs,
just getting it thru customs at the border going north is NOT worth the
hassle or cost if the product was not made in Canada originally. And
proving that requires the original bill of sale, which they did not return.

I can goto fleabay, and buy something from anyplace on the planet with less
hassle by far, than I can send something made in Canada, back to its
Canadian maker for factory service. We are supposed to be good neighbors,
and I'd like to think so, but your customs kill any chance for meaningful
commerce between us. The last 3 times I had to do that involved a Norpac
video device, it was quicker by far to trans-ship it to CBS, whose people
knew what t's needed to be cross, and the proper i's dotted to convince
customs that it did indeed originate originally in Canada. If not, pay the
VAT on its new price to get it past your customs. CBS knew how to do it,
but our local UPS agents had no clue. So an urgent, promised overnight
repair sat there for a month before we could even get it shipped back to us
(we had to send then a certified bank draught for the shipping cost back),
with evidence that it sat out in the weather for that delay. The well
wrapped package was still soaking, dripping wet when it arrived back in WV.

Cheers, Gene
