[Coco] Drive controller problem

Nope, I'm getting the DISK EXTENDED COLOR BASIC message now (must not have
had it inserted correctly before), but it still won't read or write to a
known-good drive with a known-good disk in it.

But you're still getting the Extended Basic (not Disk Extended Basic)
message at startup?  That's very weird.  Are you SURE it doesn't say Disk
Extended Color Basic?  If you're certain, all I can suggest is cleaning the
edge controller contacts with a pencil eraser or some such.
