[Coco] DriveWire is just a hobby (Was: DW4 on MAc & Linux)

Al,
Tormod Volden posted a link during the first half or the "documentation discussion" of a zip of a fresh build of all the HDBDOS stuff.
The link is
http://toolshed.sourceforge.net/snapshots/
Copy it and save it somewhere as it's top secret and only exists in this email and in the list history :-)
It needs to be linked from the Toolshed site as well as the DW4 Wiki.
There have been mods and bug fixes since the files on Cloud9 were posted. These are the most current. The Cloud9 list is also incomplete and a little dated.

Those files don't look like the files in the DRIVEWIRE.ZIP file on the
Cloud9 website.
I don't even know where to get this file.

Al, first, Drivepak is NOT a Cloud 9 product and I don't think it's
supported by HDBDOS. DrivePak is a product of Roger Taylor and good luck
with that.

BTW... Could you tell me which files in the ZIP re the ROM files I need to
burn for a Coco 3 and Coco 2 Disk Controller? Are there different ones for a
Drivepak?

Al, the rom files have no load address. They are just direct dumps. They are
not meant to be loaded into the Coco. Only by the burner software.

DOH!!!!!
Thanks Art!
Do you know of a program that can look at a binary file and tell what
address it is meant to load to?
Because I don't know where the ROM files in the Drivewire image are going to
load to.

Al, a trick I use to avoid having to calculate offsets is this:
Say you want to move a file XYZ.BIN that would normally load at $7E00
so that it loads at $2000 instead. Just issue this command:
LOADM"XYZ",&H2000-&H7E00
Let the computer worry about the offset calculation!
