I'm not the first owner, and somebody did throw a CoCo 3 keyboard onto it, so there's a chance they changed some other stuff around as well. Will using the HDBDW3CC1 ROM file if they put a newer op-amp in? I could always grab the CoCo 2 ROM, set the servers to CoCo 2 mode, and see what happens. Worst case I suspect is precisely the same problem I have now.

Just to make that clear: The only difference between the HDBDW3CC1 and
the HDBDW3CC2 ROM file is the baud rate. At the normal 0.9 MHz CPU
clock rate, the -CC1 file runs at 38400 baud and the -CC2 at 57600
baud. So please check that the server config corresponds to this.

The 741 op-amp used as an inverter on the CoCo1 bit banger port has
poor bandwidth so it limits the usable baud rate to 38400. If I
understand correctly that is the only reason for running only 38400 on
the CoCo1. If you replace the 741 with something faster you can run
57600 (or 115200 with DATurbo).
