[Coco] Reading/Writing Model I/III/4 Disks on a CoCo

That's not a problem unless you are trying to write single density Model I
disks. And, if you have Super Utility for the Model I you can re-write the
Data Address Marks to make them correct.
Most Coco Disk Controllers I know of use a disk controller chip compatible
with the Model III/4.
I would check Craigslist, or a local recycler for an old XT class computer
to use to make the disks on. I have one here I am building an 8-bit IDE
Controller for to use a CF Card as a hard drive.

The other problem with using a Coco to make disk images, is that few people
have hard drives for them to host the images on. I guess one could use
Drivewire for that purpose. But, again, there's no software to write the
image out.
If one has a PC with a 360k drive (you can add one to most machines up to
Windows 98), Dave Dunfield's Imagedisk will allow you to image disks or
create disks from images. He has some Model 4 disks available on his page.

Some of the TRS-80 Emulators on the PC also come with utilities to image, or
write disks as well.

I think the CoCo's floppy controller could do it, but as far as I know
nobody's written the code. Far worse than the 35/40 track issue is the fact
that TRSDOS and cousins screw around with the inter-sector markings. I'm not
entirely sure about the details.
