The element Nitrogen is an essential part of just about any explosive. Hence nitroglycerin and a host of other substances.
In big game hunting the shells to use are almost invariably of the "Nitro Express" variety, packing an enormous elephant stopping punch (and a corresponding reaction to that action) The largest is the .700 although it is rumored that there is a .900 out there (scary)
So the name NitrOS-9 seems to me quite apt and ingenious.
