Hmm for some reason having the rgbdos rom was still booting me into ‘Disk Extended Basic’ and still no joy with DOS255.
What I did to make it work was to use the NitrOS9boot.os9 file I got from somewhere - load that into Drive0 and DOS from DECB. It booted NitrOS-9 and also loaded the .VHD since I customized that and saw the changes. This will work for now, ill tinker some more as I would like Drive 0 free and not require it loaded to start NitrOS9.
Odd thing was I had customized the border color to Cyan and in MESS it is purple? Ill have to play around with ‘display’ in MESS.
Thanks for all the help everyone - that is the true joy of this community!

Aldo,
>From what I remember, you have to put the RGBDOS.ROM in the cartridge slot. The disk rom goes in the rom dir as usual. You must turn off the "cart auto start" in the config.
This should bring you up in rgbdos as Vcc does, then all else should be the same.
I know Mr Gault will correct me if I'm wrong :-)

The .VHD I'm using is the NitrOS-9 one floating around. In VCC it is accessible
via the rgbdos option. Either with or without a floppy would be fine.

will not have access to the .vhd drive while Basic is running. You can access
the .vhd if you boot NitrOS-9 with the required drivers in the OS9Boot module
and a .vhd Boot module in the kernel.

interested in Disk Basic or NitrOS-9? You may be asking about how to boot
NitrOS-9 from a .vhd without using a floppy.
