It's a "pledge" only. No money has changed hands in a pledge. At least,
according to the "General Rules" of pledges.
A donation or actual buing into something is another story.

Apparently Jeri Ellsworth called it a scam. A bit harsh IMHO, I believe it
was more a case of too little knowledge coupled with misguided
enthusiasm...
but there you have it.
