[Coco] question about MPI and Orch-90

Todd,
The pictures look like to be an original MPI PAL.
I don't know what Tandy's MPI PAL upgrade looked like because I have never seen one.
If the PAL was updated from a Cloud-9 MPI PAL Upgrade, it would be a GAL part, not a PAL.
The peeks, etc can be viewed from our website at www.cloud9tech.com , hardware page MPI Upgrade.....
What the PAL upgrade does is move the MPI map out of the GIME's map. So yes there is a conflict.
A conflict will only happen if the region is accessed. I don't have a list of programs that crash.
I would just upgrade the PAL and not worry about it, but that is just me, YMMV.
Regards,
Mark

Ok I swapped out the chips. Both say TANDY on them. And unfortunately I'm getting the same result with this alternate chip. PEEK (&HFF90) still reports 255. Perhaps the newer chip was just an newer version of the coco1/coco2 one. Rogelio, I heard that the unmodded version on a coco3 has memory conflicts that can result in crashes, data corrupt, etc. I want to get this working properly for coco3 and i have no equipment for coco1/coco2 anyways
