Thanks!  It's shaping up...  There's still PAL CoCo timing to get right
(without reducing the HS to an infinitely short pulse!).  And probably
loads of other things too ;)

Indeed, I'm trying it under Linux now too.  I have the timidity daemon
running, so there really should be a midi output device (albeit emulated)
available, but the menu option's just greyed out.

In the MIDI section of config, MIDIDefaultOutput=1, MIDISynthDefaultProfile=gm,
MIDISynthDefaultSoundBank="", UseMIDI=true.

I've downloaded DriveWire 4.3.1 (was 4.3.0) and it's the same deal.
The end result is a "MIDI is not available" message, followed by lots
of predictable "No MIDI device for MIDI msg" when you try and play.
