Hi all,
I never used Scripsit on any machine, but it reminds me that I wrote
the entirety of my book "The Custom TRS-80" in Electric Pencil in
1980-81 on a TRS-80 Model I.
Because you could embed control characters in Electric Pencil files
(by using the @@ character pair to open the control code and a single
@ to end it), the italics, bold, headings, column widths, and even
type font changes were included in the plaintext document. It went
via 300baud modem to the publisher and right to the typesetting
machine from there.
Of course, regular wax pasteup was still used for the plate negatives. :)
Dennis
