Reason I asked the question, is everyone seems to complain about
1. Monitor support
2. Number of colors
3. screen resolution
4. total memory
5. memory paging 8K blocks
All of this is in the GIMI. What not change or upgrade it.
1. USE VGA instead of RGB
2. Update number of colors to at least 8 if not 16 or 32
3. increase screen resolution to 1024X768 VGA
5. Total memory of min 1 Meg to 8Meg
6. 2K paging blocks.
IMHO None of these enhancements would in no way hinder compatibility
with existing software.
1. Allows use of existing monitors. we do this now with external hardware.
2. extending the number of colors should not cause problems
3. Would adding a 800X600 and/or 1024X768 mode cause any problems if
added to existing screen modes
4. Increasing Total Memory should in no way cause any problems
5. going from 8K to 2K Paging blocks again should not cause any
problems. In fact it should make using OS9
even easier.
