If you're stuck using Visual C++ 6, I feel your pain. That puts you 
somewhere around 14 years behind the times and there have been so many 
breaking changes in the compiler and runtimes that I imagine you're exactly 
right in your earlier comment. . . easier to rewrite from scratch than to 
bring the code up to date.

Just know that we appreciate your efforts to add DriveWire support to VCC.
