[Coco] VCC freezing up under Ubuntu

Keith,
No, Directx is just used to draw the actual Coco screen and for sound. The DX support for linux has many different parts and if one needed part is missing, then that part will fail. The windows and menus themselves are generated by the standard windows api and will come up even if some the dx components are missing. Diectx is only accessed when it has to draw the actual Coco screen or use sound. When I downloaded and installed Wine on Mint, I had to go back and get several dx parts to make it work. I think I'm still lacking some as it will fail on certain things. I run windows and was just playing around with it in Mint so I never checked everything, butit it did run and boot nitros9.
Just search your repository for "directx support for wine" or "wine directx"

But it does begin to run Bill. Would it just not start up at all if I
required directx support?
