[Coco] OS-9 Databases

Hi,

Sculptor is the ONLY data base for OS-9 that will not lose data, it is
reliable unlike another attractive looking database program that will trash
your data when you enter it.

DataMaster index sorts are way to slow for lots of data, small ones OK. That
program needs to be disassembled and patched as it would attract lots of
causal OS-9 users.

The serious OS-9 database programmers will have a learning curve for
Sculptor and it requires some tricks to import large amounts of data. Do not
waste your time with other database programs on OS-9. I have the MSDOS
version also. Index sorts are not needed. Lots more information is available
for Sculptor online. A more modern GUI needs to be written for it, I looked
at that until ...

------------------

Having said that, the ONLY database program I use and would consider using
is PARADOX.

The Borland programmers were several steps ahead of the rest of the world
and were cut down by Lotus destroying them with lawyers.

I have no trouble creating databases with 60K - 200K entries very quickly
and need to do very little programming as interactive PARADOX is so rich in
capabilities. Collecting and making useful the huge number of CoCo OS-9
files on the web, a piece of cake.

Lots of people earn a good living using PARADOX.

A database program that is so powerful and so easy to use must be a
"paradox".

Sorry, MSDOS to W7 only for PARADOX. You may have to purchase a counterfeit
version and still it will be $$.

?

This web site sells counterfeit software along with other sites:

?

I have used ~ thirteen (13) database programs and Tsunami (PARADOX 10's
other name) is the last one I will look at.
