I would love to see something like that!

Kids today grow up without knowing the fun of creating something like
this. My nephew is growing up around Macintoshs, iPhones, and iPads. He
has seen his grandfather writing programs and developing a single chipper,
and he seems to be interested. I think even $400 would be worth the money
if he learns something. (But I'd prefer to spend less... ;) )

It wouldn't have to have a lot: It doesn't need internet access. No floppy
or discs, just an SD card. Heck, the first computer I actually toyed with
only had 8 LEDs for a display and some switches for input, and I had a lot
of fun with it. Maybe not as impressive as that iPad, but the fun is in
discovering what you can make it do. Maybe the display and keyboard are
something you add, and program in ML. The idea is to learn what a computer
actually is.
