Actually, if you know your Coco computer, you can test its operational 
status without a monitor or TV. 

After you have applied power, type (blind, of course): MOTOR ON and listen 
for the relay click. Now, this does not work on ALL coco computers, since 
some had a type of reed relay for the cassette port. 





Interesting, no I didn’t know this. I wonder if the seller actually did this though. I have a gut feeling though that he was being disingenuous. I know that sounds harsh but buying vintage computers and video games on ebay for the better part of twelve years can make you kinda jaded and I’ve seen those kind of (false) claims many times. 

I do hope of course that our buyer got a good deal and a nice Coco 1. It looks to be in great shape so fingers crossed :)
