[Coco] Mess and Serial

Does MESS allow serial output to the PC's comm port? I know David Keil's emulator and Jeff's as well allowed this. VCC will only send to a text file. Someone needs to find that guy and get him back on VCC or release the code LOL
I've found several "virtual serial ports" for windows that would allow the output of the emulator to be redirected to another app... drivewire for instance. That would give 4 more HDs online (or disk drives... whatever) Then my emulator would mimic my current Coco setup. I use the emulator mostly for super fast file transfers and running compilers/assemblers. Jump the clock up a notch and overclock the virtual drives... things go really fast. 80 meg formats in less than a minute, forever using the real Coco. Copy HD to HD in less than a minute.
Also... what the best stable version of MESS for the Coco 2 & 3? The newer ones just don't seem to run as much as the older ones.
