Generally we prefer either mixed, where you insert your reply where 
appropriate, or bottom.  Top posting, because the answers are generally 
before the question, is I think ok for PM's, but when the whole list is 
reading, the equivalent of standing by listening to a conversation, then I 
personally prefer mixed as its much easier to "follow" the conversation.

If your email agent doesn't snip sigs, its a good idea to snip them 
yourself.  Ditto excessive copies of the list subscription lines.  sigs are 
generally defined as anything below the \n-- \n
