The Library tool is where most of the new features are. Right click
on Local and add a directory with disks in it, and you should see many
new things are possible. You can browse through the contents of
disks, see files and pictures, etc.

Sounds like "Use Midi" is turned off? That is what triggers the menu
items to grey out.
