Have you checked out your local Radio Shack lately? Not only do they have some of those, like we remember, but they also offer TinkerKits that are electronic components, sensors, etc. that snap in with connectors so you don't even have to deal with jumper wires and springs. I was really blown away with all the things they now carry -- passive infrared motion sensors (PIRs), Arduino, Parallax, servos... Heck, they even had a DMX (DJ lighting network) interface board for $19!
