I know this program all too well.
I think it can be used with/without the sampling cartridge, but your
resolution
will be very low

While it was fun to use, I eventually returned it to Oblique Triad for a
refund.
(This happened in the late 80's or early 90's)

There were some issues which may have been resolved later. Oddly enough,
I never got my money back from them, in spite of calling & leaving messages
many times. I had even called the equivalent
of the Canadian Better Business Bureau for advice.

Less than 10 years ago, after seeing some posts on this list from various
people trying to track down the copyright owners of various coco programs,
I saw the name of one of the two programmers from Oblique Triad posted, as
well as the name of his current company.

I contacted him, and he actually remembered me returning my Studio Works
program & cartridge as well as not being able to return
the money. Apparently those two guys were just a few dollars away from
starving or being homeless.

He eventually made good and paid me the $100 or so which he owed me.

Since it was through this list that I actually came back into that money, I
donated the moeny to the Glenside Coco club,
and wrote a letter for their newsletter explaining the whole story. I love
to see the expressions on the faces of my coco friends
when I tell them that I had tracked (not stalked) the guy down after
20-some years and actually got a confession & refund. '-)

I wish I had kept a copy of that issue of the Glenside Coco club newsletter.
