It's been a while, but IIRC the patch works fine on Windows, however
since Windows doesn't generally include tools like patch, I think I
just applied it by hand. It isn't very many changes to make. You
will want to use version 0136 unless you like figuring things out a
lot.
Tim Lindner created another alternative which maps the emulated
bitbanger to a socket, this was supposed to be accepted into the
mainline MESS at one point and so would be available in prebuilt
binaries. Not sure where that got stalled at, it does work and it's
pretty slick.
In either case, you will have to use DW4. Drivewire 3 does not
support using TCP sockets as the communications device, which both of
these patches require.
