Hello, Ron! Now there's a name I haven't seen in a long time! When I see
old buddies like this pop up out of the blue it just reminds me that while
we might go on break for a while or appear to be missing in action, we're
all still in the CoCo community.
With that being said, I want to remind everybody that there's no way in
hell I'm going anywhere. Sorry, Cloud-9! We need the competition in
order to keep the CoCo goodies coming. I'll always be here to give you
guys a hard time, and you know this.
It's not the hosting of coco3.com that's a problem. We're talking $10 a
month which the google ads more than pay for.
It's the fact that I've got lots of people coming at me from every angle
right now about the back orders of the Drive Pak. I know I'm behind!!
But this isn't a Wal-Mart. I'm doing the best I can considering some
people disputed their order because they just couldn't wait on it, or they
heard somebody slander my good name, or bash my good efforts, or convince
the masses that my stuff was shit, and demanded their money back. One guy
hadn't had his coffee yet and bashed the hell out of me then later wrote
me back praising the Drive Pak which he played around with some more.
I really have to put all of my focus into back orders and the Phoenix IDE
at this time, and I need the funds to fulfill the Drive Pak orders. To be
honest, Phoenix was started to do just that - be the funds behind
producing hardware items. This isn't a company or a quasi-company. It's
a service that takes 100% dedication and loss of sleep. How else do you
think I can manage so many CoCo tasks. Take a longer look around ask
yourself how one man can do all of this while raising 2 kids and working
for UPS! It can't be done! Or can it? So bash away.
Ron Bihler, if you're hearing me... I cannot afford to pay you $270 right
now at one time for the 50 cases you are holding. I do thank you much for
the trouble it took you at your job to borrow the company time to produce
these cases for me. I wanted to buy them in affordable lots and you won't
let me because they're 'already boxed up'. In the past I threw down the
cold cash, no trouble, but when I've got people like Israel taking $168
back from me after ordering 3 items and then hearing somebody's slandering
of my efforts, this hurts. I've had a hand full of people do this to me
over the past 6 months because they wanted a Wal-Mart style experience,
and I run a home-brew service. My stuff works, and I get kudos daily, but
there's always going to be trouble in the crowd when you offer any kind of
service.
So now, to save my good name, I offered to sell coco3.com to raise the
funds needed to finish the remaining 50 Drive Pak orders. CoCo3.com makes
about $4000 a year when I'm working overtime to promote stuff. When
people bash me, the overall flow is interrupted and this causes more
bashing, and I think the only way to solve this problem is to liquidate
"some" of my stuff and get these nice Drive Paks in the customer's hands
before they start the pitchfork party.
I'm not sure if I'm moving yet or not but I'm switching to satellite so I
may be either using my cell phone or the library to check e-mails in the
meantime... so please don't expect me to be able to respond to a *large*
number of e-mails for at least a week, but I'll try. The cell phone does
the web easily but won't do e-mail using my current settings in Eurdora.
That's about it - talk soon.
