Hi,
That sounds like what I planned to do, I have three computers to install on
and the last one I installed the OS > 12 times this year with ~ three more
HDD wipes and OS installs to go.
It sure is fun to track down a bug that only five (5) people at MS would
understand.
Linux confirmed my idea what was wrong, but I had only .1 second to read the
message as it flew by.

The Torrent software was much worse, I think I had to op out of four items.

The adobe stuff can be a real mess. I used to avoid it altogether and
use alternate PDF viewers, but clearscan just makes things so nice
that I couldn't resist. One tactic that has worked for me is to
simple unistall the old version, then install the latest from adobe's
website (while being careful to opt out of whatever junk toolbars and
other assorted mess they try to bundle with it).
