Given that many (most?) devices have a very tall portrait mode, could
you implement a display mode that put a coco screen in the on the top
50% - 60% (whatever 4:3 works out to plus top menu bar, etc) and the
standard keyboard on the lower half?  i'd image text would still be
quite readable even using only half the screen for coco video, and
would make things like text adventures and even a little basic
tolerable (at least for me).
