It's in the border, not the standard display.
Using cls only changes the color in the main display, not the border.
Using a 13" TV my border is around 1.5 inches on the sides. On the left side, the very left hand .25 inch or so is green.
Games I have found that do it.
Daggaroth.
Demon Attack
Arkanoid
The King
Zaxxon
Froggie 1.1
Games that don't
Dragon Fire
Later,

Normal? in none. I assume this condition is prevalent only in games as you
describe, what happens in Basic if you try clearing the screen to any other
color than the default green, say a red CLS 4, or cyan CLS 6?
