[Coco] ultimuse, midi, non standard keyboards

I've been exploring the many MIDI files available for Ultimuse and
while some sound great, a lot seem to be set up for one particular
(non General MIDI) device. This leads to some pretty strange sounding
songs in some cases.
I am new to the world of CoCo MIDI, are there tools for
converting/adapting the voices from one standard to another? I notice
the ume files will usually explain what keyboard they are set up for,
so far I've seen Yamaha PSS-480, Yamaha PSR-500, Casio CPS-101, Casio
MT-240 and maybe some others.
I can certainly add a filter mode to DriveWire to map each model's
voices into a general midi layout in real time, but before I possibly
re-invent this wheel, I was wondering if this is a problem that is
already solved some other way? I don't know much about Ultimuse yet
but it seems like a powerful program, maybe there is an option to do
this kind of thing somewhere I haven't found yet?
