I have access to a "slicer" for slicing off spines of books and a Xerox
multifunction that spits out PDF files.  I can scan anything needed if
someone needs a project scanned...

Just the standard accompying software. It's a HP 6300.

Thanks for all the interest! The stuff AND the scanner are currently in our
old house on the other side of the country (about 230 km ~ 144 mi away), but
I will be going there soon again, so let's see what I can get done then.
