Before the age of telecommunications, no problem.  Nowadays it's called stalking.  (Something at least two girls I was attracted to when I was a teenage geek could have accused me of).  Mostly glad I grew up* before computers were appliances and traffic lights had networked cameras.

* actually I haven't, yet, I have at least one more mid-life crisis to go and it doesn't involve a motorcycle**.
