Is that JPEG the old cosine transform version or the newer JPEG2000  
wavelet version?

I've scanned a few game manuals, but my goal has been to retain the  
scanned images in a lossless format within the PDF.  Typically, I've  
used 600 dpi LZW-compressed TIFF for black & white, and 300 dpi  
JPEG2000 lossless for color.  Yeah, my file sizes are large, but I can  
always redistill them into a smaller format at some point in future as  
needed.

So if anyone needs an uber-high quality PDF copy of the Dungeons of  
Daggorath manual, let me know!  ;-)
