Hi Darren,
Thanks for responding to my question so fast. Yes my CoCo 3 tower has a
6309 cpu. I am using a Hitachi 63x09E with Cloud-9's "Pro-Tector".
So it looks like DSKINI is not formatting my disk properly? I tried
using a 5.25" 360K floppy in my PC but I was getting errors when
executing DSKINI. So I replaced that floppy drive on my PC with a 5.25"
1.2meg floppy and I can now create 35 track, single sided disks no
problem. Before I forget, I need to mention that I am using MS-DOS 6.22
on an old 386DX-33 PC that I bought at Goodwill about 4 years ago for
$5.00 :)
I also noticed that there appears to be some discrepancy between DSKINI
syntax and the DSKINI documentation on the NitrOS-9 site
(http://www.nitros9.org/howto.html#dsk). For example this syntax does
not work on my version of DSKINI:
DSKINI /T40 /D B: NOS963~1.DSK
"Unable to open specified virtual disk."
Here is the Usage that is listed if you type DSKINI by it's self at the
DOS prompt:
"Usage: DSKINI [2] [8] [d:] [[path\diskname[.DSK]]
"d:" destination drive (default A:)
"path" source directory for virtual disk
"diskname" name of virtual disk
/2 to write to the second side of the disk
/8 if using an 80-track disk in 1.2Mb drive
At least one parameter must be specified."
Where is the "/T" and "/D" parameters coming from?
If I type "DSKINI B: NOS963~1.DSK
75 tracks are written but only head 0 is being used. If This image is
double track shouldn't the format alternate between heads 0 and 1?
