The paks would conflict since they both have DOS ROMs in
them. Hopefully your controller ROM is socketed to make it
easier. If you remove my EPROM you'll knock the pak down to hardware
only and miss all the cool bells and whistles.
As for an MPI, if you'll notice all my efforts are aimed at
preserving the CoCo unit itself. It's always been harder to find
CoCo add-ons than it is to find a bare CoCo. If you could take a
bare CoCo and the simplest form of hardware needed (except for a PC)
to make the CoCo think it's using real floppy drives, ROM Paks,
printers, etc. I'd say that is the best idea yet to help keep the
CoCo in use by the most people.
