Btw, getting back to quality chit-chat here... :) while it's on my
mind, I'm looking at that 6551 replacement chip I mentioned a few
weeks ago here and was wondering if it has improvements over the
Rockwell 6551 that you are aware of. I've got 2 of these now that
I'm about to try in my pak but just typing back and forth won't prove
much. If by chance it has a bigger FIFO it would be nice but the
price of these chips I think is over twice the cost of the Rockwell
chips I've obtained. I'm trying to keep the pak cost as low as
possible but then everything is socketed, so anyone would have the
option of customizing the boogers to their liking, even preset
jumpers for 6551 tastes.
