Doesn't look like spam to me looks like he thought he missed sending you a  
newsletter as being a member and was trying to make up for it with an  apology. 
 Would you get mad if i accidentally sent  you a copy of my  CoCoNutz! 
newsletter by mistake thinking that i had left you out of a mailing  list of 
requested recipiants? 
looks like you got all upset before you researched the reason for this  
mishap......I have notified Mr. Swoger and he intends to make this situation  right.
