Do you remember if the JM controllers required the 12V?
I have one of those stashed away. Is there an easy way to tell, ie, if it has a certain
FDC chip, it requires the 12V?

If I remember correctly, only one version of the coco2 had the required 12
volts supply line. Certainly none of the short-case coco2's had it. So, yes,
the coco2 in general will need the MPI.

I know a CoCo3 requires an MPI to use one of the old-school Tandy floppy
controller, but
does the CoCo2 also require an MPI? I was planning on setting up a CoCo2 in
the garage to rinky-dink around with.
