Hehehe I do a similar sort of thing with Linux and setfdparm, though to
be honest I mainly use 3.5" disks these days :)
The relevant section of my /etc/fdparm, that I use with both Dragon and
CoCo (as they are both 40/80 tracks 18x256 byte sectors / track).
#
# DragonDos 40 track disk in 80 track drive (eg 1.2M).
# for 40 track in 40 track drive, set the 6th column to
# 0 instead of 1 (like the 80 track formats below !).
#
# -5 are for 5.25", -3 are for 3.5"
#
ddosSS40-5 360 9 1 40 1 0x2A 0x39 0xDF 0x50
ddosDS40-5 720 9 2 40 1 0x2A 0x39 0xDF 0x50
ddosSS40-3 360 9 1 40 0 0x2A 0x3A 0xDF 0x50
ddosDS40-3 720 9 2 40 0 0x2A 0x3A 0xDF 0x50
#
# DragonDos 80 track disks in an 80 track drive (eg 720K,1.2M,1.44M)
#
ddosSS80 720 9 1 80 0 0x2A 0x3A 0xDF 0x50
ddosDS80 1440 9 2 80 0 0x2A 0x3A 0xDF 0x50
Of course for a 35 track ECB disk, I'd just use the 40 track variants.
Cheers.
Phill.
