At work I'm forced to use a windows XP machine and while there are
many aspects of windows that make me want to vomit I've found it to
be reasonably stable. I do have to admit that since it's a laptop I
turn it off at the end of the day and turn it on again at the
beginning of the day so I don't know how it will do running 24/7. For
most of my computing needs I use linux for other needs I use solaris,
OSX and for a growing number of applications my coco.

I can offer to extend this OS flame war by stating that if you want
a stable and reliable platform with maximum performance nothing
(including linux in it's wildest of dreams) can touch solaris.

Then again I spend a lot of time puttering with my coco. It's slow
and needs to be power cycled a lot but I still love it.

I use Slackware, preferred by non-sissies everywhere.
