Well, you still have to startup with your kickstart 1.3 disk (unless  
you have modified your A1000 to have a kick ROM), but that isn't  
really that big a problem.  My A1000 actually has 2 IDE controllers:  
this one and a dataflyer 1000 (which also has 8 Meg fast RAM on it).
