[Coco] [Color Computer] FD 501 and older drive

Hi,

I've got an older drive that came with a 26-3022 controller.  I know I can't use the controller 
in my CoCo3 because of the voltage.  I just acquired an FD-501 controller which works with 
the CoCo3.  Will it also work with the drive that came with the 26-3022?
