Yep All the Dragons I have ever seen have the 6809 & 74LS783 socketed, 
some of them also have one or both of the roms socketed too. Alas the 
RAM is normally soldered in, so making 32->64 upgrades more dificult.
Well compared to the CoCo 1 anyway which had sockets & jumpers.

The Dragon uses a 6551 serial chip for it's serial port which has a top 
speed of 19200baud, according to the data sheet :)

The ROM routines only allow you to set it to 9600, but if you set it 
directly by writing to the chip, it will work at 19200, even with the 
ROM routines.
