[Coco] Atari SC1224 monitor

I'm pleased with the SC1224 display. But I changed the DIN plug, just too
weird to find parts in Costa Rica and not worth the postage to buy bits and
pieces. Now I've removed the TV modulator, put in an L bracket, and mounted
the RGB out Dsub9F where the TV out was. AND kept the standard RGB output
pins in place as well, since I've already ordered and anxiously await for
Roy's adapter (once the check gets there and clears - time consuming from
here) I got the SC1224 so cheap I couldn't pass it up. And I just can't
resist doing things with a soldering iron...
No, I don't plan to have both the SC1224 and the VGA adapter plugged in
simultaneously. I guess there are are impedance issues. I would though
definately like to have Roy's VGA AND Chris' S-Vid adapters on
simultaneously, if possible. But I guess the same thing (impedance) applies.
I found ( http://schematy.elektroda.net/lista.html ), paid for (Poland I
believe) and downloaded the Commie 1084 Service Manual (and a bunch of
others while I was at it) Turns out to be an 8CM515. No mods or changes that
I can see. But I'm just a hobbyist.

Rumor has it that Jim Cox may have mentioned these words:

>that inverted the signals?
I thought that was the Commie series (1084?)... And I thought that was just
one or both of the sync signals - a single TTL chip (7404 hex inverter)
would do the trick.
However, here's my recollection of the some of the tandy monitors:
CM-5 - CGA, absolutely pitiful. .52 or .51mm dot pitch, IIRC. Could *not*
do 80 columns.
CM-8 - CoCo RGB - .42mm dot pitch. Can do 80 column; tho 106 was kinda
tight. (Yes, there are fonts for OS-9 for a 106 column screen... can be
handy if you needed to see a wider-than-80 column layout for something. [[
Some people say 80-column was borderline, a few say it wasn't good enough -
maybe I just have higher-resolution eyeballs, as I've never really had to
squint or anything at 80-column; and my CM-8 was one of the very first off
the assembly line - drove 300 miles round trip to buy it.]]
Atari SC1224 (And yes, I have 2 of these, so I have a "vested interest" in
this thread... ;-) .37mm dot pitch according to Google.
Better, yes, but will it be *that much better* to mod an SC1224, or should
one "bypass the middleman" and use Roy's adapter to hook to an SVGA monitor?
BTW, Digi-Key still caries 13-pin DIN inline plugs & receptacles, so CoCo3
cables just for the SC1224 could be pretty easily[1] made.

[1] "Easily" depends a lot on your soldering skills & equipment as I'd bet
those DIN hoods are pretty packed in there... ;-)
