Bob,
I spaced out - it is a 1084 monitor!!!!!
Do you have the correct pin outs for it?  
Here is what I have:
PIN-OUT: Commodore 1084D & 1084DS Video

Please describe the trouble you're having in more detail.
I *know* I hooked up my coco3 to a Commodore 1084 monitor with very
little 
problem, but I forget details right now. Of course, the 1080 may be 
different, but I don't have a schematic. Maybe Gene can throw some light
on 
this?
