These are 300x300 1-bit black and white scans; each page's .tif  
(8.5x11") is just over 1 meg.  When I feed them into GraphicConverter  
and patch the two pages together, the resulting 8.5x12.25" page is a  
1.2meg .tif (no compression).  If I scan at 600x600, no compression,  
each 8.5x11 page it is a 4meg file.  If I save it with the CCITT 4  
compression, it shrinks the size to 200kB.  I think I have a new  
toy!  THANKS, TORSTEN!!!
