Rumor has it that Richard Ivey may have mentioned these words:
>What does putting a 512k board in a COCO 3 actually do for it, anyway?

<MODE="Master-of-the-obvious">

It gives you access to 512K of RAM! ;-)

</MODE>

>There isn't much out there that can take advantage of it, right?

There's a lot out there that can take advantage of it - just less so under
RS-DOS. Almost Anything that runs under OS-9 can take advantage of 512K of RAM.

> Or is it for the "after-Tandy" era software that has since come out.

Tandy had a lot of software available that could use it.

> Or is it bragging rights over Atari and Commodores?

Well, there *is* that... ;-)

P.S. When replying to a digest, you might want to 1) change the subject
line in keeping with your question, and 2) trim off the superfluous stuff
that doesn't pertain to your posting. Laterz!
