There is no good answer for this except to say there clearly is a
problem with the disk operating system. What I think you meant to ask is
with correctly functioning hardware and ROM software, could something in
the Basic program cause this. The answer to that is no.
Some things to check for are oxidation on the lands where the disk
controller plugs into either Coco or MPI. Power supplies in MPI or disk
cases for low or random voltage. Bad ribbon cable connecting disk
controller to disk drive. Adjustment of disk for RPM using either a
program or strobe pattern.
Is this specific copy of the program the only one causing problems or
will any copy of the program behave this way?
