[Coco] Using a PC Sound Card to record Coco/Dragon casette tapes

Is there documentation on-line that would give a good step-by-step 
description of transferring Coco or Dragon protected and non-protected 
software tapes to a PC using a cassette recorder to play the tapes and a 
PC soundcard to transfer this tape info to the PC for safe keeping?  Are 
these files ".cas" files?  What PC software would be good to use?  Could 
this also be done simply on a Coco/hard drive system?
